Is WearAccounts recognised by HMRC?
Not yet. WearAccounts is being built to HMRC’s Making Tax Digital standards, and we will apply for recognition before switching on direct filing. Until then it prepares your figures, and you or your accountant submit them. We will only call it HMRC recognised once HMRC lists it on GOV.UK.
Who is it for?
UK limited companies (VAT registered or not), sole traders and landlords, and bookkeepers who look after several clients. Partnerships, LLPs, charities and payroll filing are not covered in the first version.
Where is my data stored?
In your own WordPress database, on your own hosting. Receipts are stored privately, outside the Media Library. Optional extras such as bank feeds pass through a WearDigital server, which keeps only what it needs to do that job.
What happens if my licence runs out?
Your books stay readable and you can still export everything. A licence pays for updates, support and the optional connected services, never for access to your own records.
Can I move over from my current software?
Yes. The Migration Wizard imports CSV exports, checks them, shows you every difference against your old totals, and lets you undo an import before you rely on it.
Is this tax advice?
No. WearAccounts keeps your records and works out figures from them, but it is not a substitute for an accountant. Check your figures with a qualified professional before you file.
